![]() ![]() Thanks to their portability, connectivity, and their image performance – which is constantly improving – smartphone cameras (SPCs) have been people’s loyal companions for quite a while now. Today, as Senior Smartphone Technology Manager, he focuses on the development of mobile imaging solutions, collaborating with ZEISS' industrial partners who include Sony and vivo. Since 2005 he has been based at ZEISS' Consumer Products division as a project leader, quality assurance manager and innovation manager for digital consumer imaging systems. From 2002 to 2005 he assumed the role of project manager, to optimize the manufacturing processes in the central optics production facility of Carl Zeiss AG. In 1992 he started working at the Carl Zeiss Eyeglass Lens division as a production technology developer and planner. (BA) in Mechanical Engineering from the Cooperative State University Heidenheim. Oliver Schindelbeck earned his Dipl.-Ing. ![]() Since 2018, he has been a Senior Optical Systems Engineer at Optical Design & Concepts for ZEISS' Corporate Research and Technology working on different topics, such as LIDAR systems for autonomous driving, high-precision interferometry, and 3D scanning systems. He worked also on developing digital-optical systems and features such as 3D acquisition & imaging systems, digital-optical co-optimization or machine vision, partly for consumer imaging devices in close cooperation with ZEISS partners like Nokia and Sony. In 2008, he became Head of Optical Design at ZEISS' Consumer Products division and worked on developing lenses for photography, cinematography, industrial applications and later also binoculars and spotting scopes. Examples include the NA0.93, 193nm optical system for ASML's TWINSCAN XT:1400. He joined ZEISS in 2001 as Lead System Engineer and Project Leader for lithography optics, a role that saw him working on the development of projection lenses and illumination systems for lithographic scanners for microchip mass production. Vladan Blahnik studied physics and wrote his PhD thesis on partially coherent optical imaging theory at the Technical University of Braunschweig (Germany) and the Optical Sciences Center in Tucson, Arizona (USA). ![]()
